How is part-time entitlement calculated?

Part-time staff receive annual leave and bank holidays in hours, calculated on a pro-rata basis according to the number of hours worked.

Formula: (Full-time entitlement in hours ÷ 37.5) × Your weekly hours

Example Calculations

Example 1:

20 hours per week with 3 years service
  • Annual leave: (202.5 ÷ 37.5) × 20 = 108 hours
  • Bank holidays: (60 ÷ 37.5) × 20 = 32 hours
  • Total: 140 hours (18.67 days)

Example 2:

30 hours per week with 12 years service
  • Annual leave: (247.5 ÷ 37.5) × 30 = 198 hours
  • Bank holidays: (60 ÷ 37.5) × 30 = 48 hours
  • Total: 246 hours (32.8 days)
